Songjoo returns

On Wednesday very early in the morning, I took a train to Delhi. I went to see Manju (my amazing American Hindi teacher) and also to see Songjoo and her husband Craig.

Delhi was a little overwhelming so I really didn't take any pictures unfortunately, but sufficed to say, it was crowded, dirty, and hot.

Then we took an overnight bus back to Dehradun (I don't recommend that).

The whole time we were in Delhi we were trying to decide what to do. We finally settled on a trip Matthew wanted to take up unto the Himalayas.

So yesterday, we took a six hour taxi ride up into the hills.

Our Taxi driver - I think this may have been the only time he smiled. But he was very good.

The entire journey was one long amazing view of the Ganges river valley.

We stopped at a little Dhaba for lunch. The food was... meh. But the view was awesome

Then we arrived in Rudraprayad (sp?) and spent the night at the government sponsored guest house.

The view from our balcony, cool right?

And now i'm getting the scowl from Matthew so it's time we left to find a taxi for the next leg of our trip to Chopta and then to Tungnath. woohoo for some serious hiking!

I hope these people hike SLOW!
