I'm now going to move backwards in time. If you'll recall, I had moved forward to my train trip to Delhi to get Becky on "Becky Day" so now I'm moving backwards to the few days I was back in Dehradun before Becky Day.
Wednesday was yet another holiday... as was this past Saturday. I've completely lost track of these things.
But Wednesday was no school so I took Achui out to lunch and Goldy out to dinner.
Achui and I ate at this totally funky little cafe that had an American/UK vibe including posters of Jimmy Hendrix on the walls and the Beatles on the sound system.
Across the street is some sort of Airforce installation.
Heidi, what kind of helicopter is this?
Then we witnessed a car accident... my first one in India. Not all that dramatic. Just a fender bender really.
Then Thursday I took off for Delhi which was where I met Professor Harsha. He was kind enough to help me rush to the metro station so that I could catch the airport express to the airport.
I had done my research and looked up all the particulars. I was sure that I knew when the train would run and that I would be able to make it. Especially since when I visited the website, this is what I saw.
And being the speedy person that I am, I only read the first part of the notice which gives all this great information about what a great service the airport express train is.
I did not scroll down and read the bottom part where it informs the public that the express train to the airport has been closed for safety reasons.
So I arrived at the metro station but there was no train.
Poor Becky. She ended up waiting an extra hour at the airport for me as I booked a cab and rushed to meet her.
Then we slept for about three hours before we boarded a train back to Dehradun.
We spent Saturday shopping at the Paltan Bazaar and today we went to church and then to Achui's house for an amazing dinner.
We bought fresh fish and fresh chicken.
Like REALLY fresh. Like, I saw them kill the chicken kind of fresh!
I like meat, but if I had to kill my own meat, I would definitely be a vegetarian.
But anyway, we had a really fantastic time, cooking and then eating some great Indian Food.
We ate picnic style on the floor and with our hands.
And did I mention how much I like Achui and here nieces? Because they are awesome and they are doubly awesome for inviting us over for dinner.

So fun!! I'm so glad she's there :). Hi, Becky!
